Custom Fall Protection Solution for World’s Largest Provider of Conditioned Storage Facilities

User-friendly, ergonomic solution ensures compliance with OSHA and improves working environment for employees

This Dutch-owned company is the world’s largest provider of conditioned storage facilities for bulk liquids, and has one of the largest terminals on the Gulf Coast. When evaluating their facility and safety equipment in Deer Park, Texas, the provider proactively decided to update its existing gangway equipment to ensure safe and efficient working conditions for its workforce.

After evaluation of several vendors, the provider chose Carbis, the world leader in fall prevention solutions. Carbis was chosen because of its competitive price and the customer’s confidence in the maintenance and guarantee of the solution.

Carbis recommended a retrofitted gangway solution which would integrate their existing platforms with the new ones. To accommodate the wide variance in rail car design and size, Carbis also modified their base treads. Finally, a modified cage with telescoping catwalk will enable the provider to account for the misspotting of the rail cars.

Upon installation of the solution, the provider anticipates maintaining OSHA compliance with safe working standards, enhanced safety precautions, as well as an improved working environment for their workforce through user-friendly and ergonomic equipment.
