Carbis Improves Throughput and Safety for Fortune 100 Grain and Foods Company
Custom-Designed Carbis Solution Helps Company Launch New Loading Process for Trucks
This Fortune 100 grain and foods company based in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, supplies energy, crop nutrients, livestock feed, grain, food and food ingredients, along with other services, throughout the world. The company is owned by farmers, ranchers and cooperatives, along with thousands of preferred stockholders, across the United States.
In order to improve its efficiency and productivity, the company launched a new truck loading process to help shorten the amount of time necessary to load to the trucks while still ensuring the safety of its workforce. However, upon review of its existing infrastructure, the company found that it did not have the appropriate fall prevention equipment in place.
After evaluation of several vendors, the company chose to partner with Carbis, the world leader in fall prevention solutions. Carbis recommended a custom solution which would allow the company’s workers to safely access multiple truck hatches in order to quickly and safely access and load the trucks. Carbis also provided a landing and stairs to connect the existing platform to the new Carbis platform, as well as ensured that the design incorporated the slight slope that the trucks parked on in the facility.
As a result of the project, the Fortune 100 grain and foods company now enjoys a safe working environment for its employees, while has also successfully increased throughput due to the launch of its new and efficient loading process.
