By providing terminalling services in critical locations, Carbis helps clients increase their throughput and revenues.

A developer of rail logistics and terminal facilities company opened a new state-of-the-art crude oil rail terminal in the Southeastern region of the United States.  This terminal is the first of a nationwide network of rail terminals designed to handle crude oil.  Its addition is expected to optimize the regional crude market by giving both dependable access to oil producers and a steady supply of high quality crude to refiners.  The new terminal added several miles of rail track, as well as a fully automated 26-spot rail rack for offloading the oil.

To facilitate the client’s desire to be “first to market,” Carbis met an aggressive timeline, quickly yet thoroughly designing, engineering, and fabricating a solution to meet their needs.  The world leader in fall prevention solutions, Carbis customized safe accessibility to the railcars by recommending a dual-sided platform system with tracking gangways and handrails.

This system was created to accommodate 26 offloading spots, with a total capacity of 65,000 barrels per day of throughput.  Designed for ease of installation, the necessary equipment was fabricated and shipped on schedule, allowing the company to move quickly toward increased revenue.  Further, in an effort to meet future increased demands for terminalling services, Carbis ensured that the system can easily be modified for expansion.

Most importantly, the system provided safe railcar access, thereby reducing corporate liability, and ensured growth and retention of the company’s customers through an increased market, adding to their profits, and ultimately, their bottom line.
