One of the largest independent oil and natural gas production companies in the United States faced an interesting challenge during construction of its new domestic pipeline which connected crude from oil fields in southwest Texas to its refineries in Houston.

To continue delivery of its product to market, the oil company wished to begin movement of its crude from the oil fields before pipeline construction was completed. The oil company partnered with an engineering services firm, who sought a partner to build a temporary delivery terminal to load tank trucks safely and efficiently, and all within a short project timeframe.

After evaluating several vendors, the company chose to partner with Carbis, the world leader in fall prevention solutions. Carbis was selected due to its flexible design, competitive price, and ability to meet the requested project schedule on-time guarantee.

Weaving together the strict requirements of the oil company and engineering services firm, Carbis custom-designed a loading solution which enables operators to safely load up to ten 7,560-gallon trucks simultaneously in 30 minutes or less. The five-lane tank truck, bottom-loading terminal includes a canopy, loading skids with grounding, metering system, and bottom-loading arms. The solution fully integrates with the oil company’s onsite programmable logic controller, and offers gate access for completely networked operations, as well as offers room for future expansion.

Carbis was also selected because of its Reliability and Guaranteed Delivery Program, which gave both the oil company and the engineering services firm the confidence they needed to award the project. As a result of their partnership with Carbis, the oil company will be enabled to come to market with refined product ahead of their projected schedule by utilizing their custom-designed five-lane tank truck loading platform.
